I think most people have long suspected that computer repair technicians snoop on their customers, so it's not that much of a surprise when a study finds it actually happens. It's really a tough problem when you're forced to trust someone you have no good reason to trust - and that's where family tech support comes in, because you generally have a better concept of how trustworthy a family member is.

I never thought I'd see the day when people fought back against tech companies' data grabbing ways in significant numbers. It's just a shame that they picked this time to do it. I'm not saying that they should trust big tech companies, but there are going to be serious (possibly life and death) consequences from choosing now as the moment.

It's not hard to find advice about only going to trustworthy news sites or trustworthy download sites, etc, but people seem a little bit skittish about applying the same logic to porn sites. I wonder why that is. Either the principle is sound and holds for all kinds of sites, porn included, or the principle is hogwash and porn sites are the proof of that.
