Fake it 'til you make it

found on Izismile

Hollywood - the only place where faking it is actually the skill they're looking for. No wonder realism is so hard to find there.

This cartoon is a gun

found on Imgur

Being able to accurately identify threats is a key part in protecting yourself from those threats. If you can't identify them then you're not going to be able to protect yourself or others, no matter how violently hyper-vigilant you are.

I never knew my passwords

found on Acid Cow

It's funny because it's true. You can't be tricked or coerced into giving up your passwords if you don't currently know what they are.

Your password manager would like a word with you

found on Izismile

The worst is when your password expires right before your vacation, so it's no longer what you trained yourself to remember through rote repetition and you've had no practice with the new one that you selected weeks ago.

They'll never be able to break into here

found on Good Bear Comics

It might be a bit on the subtle side, unless you've spent time looking into squirrel-proof bird feeders. That little bit below the birdhouse is a barrier that squirrels are supposedly unable to get past (though you may find that some are acrobatic enough to find a way). Check the comic on it's original site, though - there's a bonus panel that explains how the bird intends to deal with those acrobat squirrels.

It's not like it would have been private without the camera

found on Funny Junk

I actually tend to think that the people who manage surveillance feeds are exactly the kinds of people who wouldn't ask the deputy to turn the camera off before whipping it out. That kind of job attracts people who get off on seeing things they aren't supposed to see, even if they don't happen to swing that way.

Trojan Horse Cartoon Poster

Product Page

Peter Norton and John McAfee are real people and I think it's fair to say that the products named after them have missed lots of threats over the years - but maybe not back quite that far.

Something doesn't add up

found on Dog House Diaries

Now I wonder what would happen if you had the 3 little containers full of liquid and 1 big container that was empty. Do you think they'd clue in then?

Everything has a weakness

found on Funny Junk

Everything has a weakness, the trick is to make that weakness difficult to exploit. I don't think they nailed it with this one.

The reason no one holds Facebook accountable

found on Imgur

No, it's not because the data Facebook misappropriates and mishandles is worthless, it's because people believe it is. And to be clear, it's not all people who believe that, it's just the people the power to do something that believe it. They don't value what Facebook takes from us, so they let those abuses slide.

There ought to be a greeting card

found on Funny Junk

I see this as being something like the "Get Well Soon" cards you can get, or maybe the condolences cards. I don't know if parents would buy these for their kids (they might be too close to the situation), but I could see aunts, uncles, or grandparents doing it.

I only want American corporations spying on me

found on Meme Base

I'm sure China does get data like that. Just like the American government gets similar data when you use an iPhone.

I wonder, though. When it comes to this kind of data, are you more concerned about China knowing it or someone closer to home?

Stop looking at me, I need privacy - shirts

Product Page
Product Page

These seem like great shirts to wear when you want to remind people to mind their own business.

And you know what? People could stand to be reminded of that from time to time, so kudos to the person who designed these.

We should call them "Paws-words"

found on Meme Base

If you've ever had a cat then you know they're furry little agents of chaos, so I have no doubt they'd provide passwords with lots of entropy in them.

(Wish I could have found the original comic, but I guess times change and websites do too)

If you could only save one...

found on Imgur

If you could only save one, you might choose differently. It's all about what your values are.

Social engineering at it's finest

found on Meme Base

Something tells me there are mobile apps that work off exactly the same principle.

(I feel like the original cartoonist must have a site out there somewhere, but the image doesn't appear to have any identifying info and Google image search returns a lot of matches)

Security theatre of the absurd

found on Reddit

It's even funnier when you remember that this all takes place "under the sea".

He's making you pissed and checking you twice

found on Vitamin-Ha

Pretty soon now the holiday travel rush will start and a whole lot of naughtiness is going to go down at airports thanks to people who got their authority from a pizza box.

Go find your own screen to look at

found on Memedroid

And to think, you probably willingly take a tiny pocket sized computer out with you into crowded locations where people are bound to be looking at your screen.
