thanks to chet wisniewski, daniel kennedy, and alex sotirov for bringing this to my attention.

on the one hand i can appreciate where the security researcher character is coming from, but on the other hand i'm reminded of the school of thought that says if you can't explain it to a six year old, you don't understand it yourself - and explaining what you do shouldn't be as hard as explaining security itself.
