Emerson said that a foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds, and few things demonstrate that better than what passes for camouflage. The camouflage pattern that you normally associate with the military is used on so many things that it's become a joke. That's why it's good to be reminded sometimes that there are other ways of achieving that particular effect.

I would say camouflage isn't rocket science, but apparently it's even more complicated if they can't figure out how to blend in with the stars.

The people who are better at blending in to the background don't have to do as much work, so you could say there's an evolutionary advantage to being able to camouflage yourself even in the retail environment.

Not that I'm condoning killing people (goodness knows there's enough death going on already), but this would be an excellent example of using cover to disguise or otherwise hide your activities.

On the one hand, the bear is very clearly not blending in well enough to hide from a predator. On the other hand, his only predator is man, who would be hunting him with a gun, and while the cat and owl may be concealed, the bear has at least partial cover.

When I was that age I would not have had the balls to try to hide out in the open like this. I did win a game of hide and seek by hiding underneath a couch, but this little chameleon figured out how to blend in right in plain sight.

I'm tempted to name them Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Snack, but it looks like those little piglets aren't actually on the menu.

On the plus side, it is very close to the same colour as the mat, so you might argue that it legitimately is blending in. However, considering the relative sizes, I think it would be more accurate to say the door mat is blending into the package rather than the other way around.
Anything small enough to convincingly hide under the door mat would be better off going through a mail slot or going into a mail box. If you want to stop porch pirates from stealing something that big, trying to hid it isn't a good option.

If you want to blend in and go unnoticed, it's important to do some reconnaissance beforehand so that you know how to dress the part.

I wonder what this descendant of wolves is up to in that disguise. I'm not sure if sheep would be able to tell the difference or not. Their reputation isn't exactly for being smart.

This is literally supposed to be a camouflaged photo, but there aren't many things that pattern is going to blend into.

I frequently joke about camouflage items being invisible, but in this case if you're the kind of person who would wear camouflage socks then probably all your other clothes are camouflage as well, and in that case good luck differentiating these socks from all the other camo items in your laundry.

Much of the camouflage memes we see today are based (in a mocking way) on the idea that camouflage magically makes things invisible rather than the reality that it just makes it difficult to distinguish the camouflaged item from what's behind it if it looks enough like what's behind it.

You really have to wonder who the cell company thinks they're fooling with this disguise. It's certainly not blending into anything in the middle of the desert. It's not even a good disguise for a wooded area, it doesn't look that much like a tree.
