The typeface for this could have been anything, but the monochrome green on black binary code is a nice touch.

I'm sure the argument could be made that covering that spot would have provided better protection, but it also would have blocked the camera. Protection doesn't exist in a vacuum. If it prevents legitimate use then that's just another way in which it can be imperfect.

I've seen cars chained to posts as though they were bikes, and I've seen cars padlocked as though they were gates, but this might be the first time I've seen cars 'protected' as though they were phones.

I think the only scenario in which this is practical is when you need an excuse for why you didn't answer a call. "Sorry, my phone is camouflaged and I couldn't find it" might actually work once or twice.

This is an interesting design that you can find on shirts and mugs and laptop sleeves and all sorts of other things. The thing is, something about it looked familiar to me, and not just because it was an obvious riff on the "alternative facts" nonsense the Trump administration was known for in it's early days. While it's possible it could be a coincidence, I prefer to think the artist is a fan.
