You'd think they'd have better defenses

Who the heck is in charge of the DoD's app store, and how did so-called "unapproved" apps get into it? I feel like if it's in the store that is implicit approval. Maybe the person responsible didn't have the authority to make that approval but then they probably shouldn't be in a position where they're able to do that - which brings us back to the question of who the heck is in charge.

I'm hoping that, in the event of an actual emergency, the plastic case is fragile enough that someone can smash it with their foot. Otherwise this is a very bad day waiting to happen.

They never ask for permission to be confusing

I'm sure there's a perfectly logical explanation for that authorization prompt (maybe it's a 3rd party calendar app that wants access to the built-in calendar?), but that doesn't change the fact that the way it's presented is quite confusing to regular people. It almost makes me wonder if this could be exploited by malware somehow.
