of bandits and bad disguises

found on imgfave

one of the reasons bad guys wear disguises is to fool people into thinking the bad guys belong there. simply changing your voice really doesn't cut it unless you're only dealing with blind people.

thanks to jerome segura for tweeting this. the obvious robbery scenario is one that would definitely not go off without a hitch. the hitch would be required to attach this thing to your truck.

they're always around to hear it

found on memebase

with vast spying programs it's safe to say that intelligence agencies know many hidden truths. unfortunately, unlike an oracle, they won't tell those truths to you.

i dunno. the world has certainly changed under the obama administration, and i think it's fair to say it's had an effect on hope. i just don't think it was what most people were expecting.

if anyone can, it's them

found on thechive

the all seeing, all knowing eye of the US intelligence industrial complex probably knows the secrets to a great many of life's mysteries. like how they get the caramel inside a caramilk bar, or how many licks to get to the tootsie roll center of a tootsie pop.

laughter is the best protection

found on thechive

so, not only is it fun to laugh at bad guys online, apparently it can stop them in real life too.

i wouldn't rely on it though. just like laughter may be the best medicine but i'm still going to take conventional medicine when i'm sick. it's the best because it's the most enjoyable, not necessarily the most effective.

can't say i don't enjoy thinking up ways of making the lives of people doing invasive spying more difficult.

i have no idea if they'd be able to outrun him (perhaps i had a deprived childhood, i have no idea how fast those things go), but by the look on his face he's clearly been compromised, so a secondary officer could be of benefit here.

my little droney: surveillance is magic

Sexy NSA Commercial With Sasha Grey

wow, it almost makes me want to join. this is certainly better than the TSA advertising on pizza boxes.

can you hear me now? how about now? and now?

found on comixed

does this look familiar? i made something similar about 2 weeks ago. this one seems to be more popular, however, as it made it to the cheezburger homepage.

i imagine plenty like this have been made, actually. it's a natural evolution of the "can you hear me now" meme that verizon created/inspired.

100 percent security

we can't have 100 percent security and also 100 percent privacy? well, gee mr. president, now about not blowing smoke up my ass by talking about 100 percent security in the first place.

what does a secretive government run amok do?

from here

this seemed like kind of an obvious place to take things. i'm surprised i haven't seen anyone else do this yet.

so you want transparency in government

from here (source image)

considering the government has a history of interpreting things differently from everybody else, maybe we should use a word that is less ambiguous. transparency can refer to being both more visible and invisible. the former is what we want from our authorities - we want to be able to see what their doing to make sure they're really protecting our interests. when what they're doing is invisible our authorities can become our adversaries without us even noticing.

don't care about spygate? this one's for you

looks like more people are getting the jealous girlfriend vibe from the government. not quite as creepy as overly attached uncle sam, but still well played. i love the line "privacy is for people who are not kim kardashian". i suppose privacy could be for kim too, but she'd need to make a conscious decision to maintain it.

why haven't we heard this spin yet?

found on memebase

well, if you're still itching to see the best in obama, maybe this will help.

creepy uncle sam

from here

after the overly attached uncle sam video, i can't get the idea of the government as a creepy 'other' rather than one of us. as the gap between the highest authorities and the people they're supposed to serve continues to widen, i wonder what the outcome will be.

there, there. government will make it better

found on failblog

so, with the NSA around you're never truly alone? hmm, that gives me some ideas.

gee, are you a heavy breather, too?

found on failblog

so now instead of the FBI it's the NSA that's getting used as a WiFi deterrent. i gotta say, though, that if it really were an NSA honey pot, they probably wouldn't have protected it. they actually WANT to catch your traffic, so they're not going to erect barriers like passwords and encryption.
